Norton utilities premium 20202/14/2024 ![]() I have one 'atta-boy' for Premium: an older PC with only 4GB of RAM runs much better/faster after Premium recovers/clears memory. The Premium interface appears to gloss over much of the program's functions IF in fact, it's to do many of the tasks done by 16. I have to wonder if 16 has been deep-sixed by Norton (Life Lock) and replaced with a piece of fluff which has seemingly fewer capabilities. It's troublesome to run Premium, followed by 16, to see 16 finding things missed by Premium, and noticing Premium makes no mention of looking at the registry. An annual subscription fee will bring in more bucks than selling a stand-alone product that most users are satisfied with, even if it doesn't change much from year-to-year. In addition to a need to provide a new face to an product that had been pretty much unchanged for years, there assuredly was also a profit motive involved. ![]() My understanding of the rewrite of 16 to Premium is, 16 couldn't adequately handle the many 'improvements' to operating system, apps, etc. ![]() Surprisingly, 16 made over 90 registry fixes, and remove nearly 500 'privacy files'. ![]() After running Norton Utilities Premium, which found/removed a bunch of browsing, etc information, out of curiosity, I ran Utilities 16 which I've kept in the event I opt to discontinue Premium in the future. ![]()
